A normal article link says: read this.
That can be useful, of course. Articles explain things, make arguments, give context, or point people to something worth knowing. But they are still mostly passive. You click, you read, maybe you agree, maybe you don’t, and then you move on.
A LMAAIFY link does something slightly different.
It does not just point to a finished piece of content. It points to a starting point for a conversation with AI.
That means the link can say things like:
- Explain this to me in simple terms.
- Challenge this argument.
- Turn this into a checklist.
- Summarize the main idea.
- Apply this to my situation.
- Give me the opposite view.
That is the real difference. A normal link sends someone to a page. A LMAAIFY link sends someone into an action.
This makes it especially useful when you do not just want people to consume something, but to do something with it. Think about blog posts, social media debates, product pages, newsletters, tutorials, or internal notes. Instead of ending with “read more”, you can end with “ask better”.
The web has always been built around links. But most links still point to places.
LMAAIFY links point to tasks.
And that changes the mood of sharing. You are no longer just saying: “Here is something I found.”
You are saying: “Here is something you can explore.”
