Bane is a fictional supervillain appearing in DC Comics, most famously as the primary antagonist in the 1993 comic storyline “Knightfall” and the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises, directed by Christopher Nolan. Created by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Graham Nolan, Bane is a mercenary and criminal mastermind who was born and raised in the brutal prison of Pena Duro.
